(´Ｑ`)｡oO

Q has done yawning duty in kaomoji before: in (￣Q￣)あくび, where あくび (akubi) is Japanese for "yawn," the mouth is an ordinary half-width Q. This face uses Ｑ, FULLWIDTH LATIN CAPITAL LETTER Q, and it is the only face on this site that does. Inside the parentheses it is by far the largest character, and the top of its ring comes up as high as the eyes, so the mouth looks stretched wide open mid-yawn. The Q's tail pokes out of the ring toward the lower right, and its shape depends on the font: in some it is a short straight stroke cutting across the bottom right of the ring, in others a curve hanging below it. The eyes are two short slanted strokes, one on each side of the Ｑ: ´ (ACUTE ACCENT) on the left and ` (GRAVE ACCENT, the backtick) on the right. Both are lower at the outer end, so the corners of the eyes droop and the lids look heavy. Outside the parentheses, ｡oO is three circles, hollow in the middle, that grow from left to right: ｡ (HALFWIDTH IDEOGRAPHIC FULL STOP, the half-width form of the Japanese period 。), then a lowercase o and a capital O. The same trail of bubbles follows thoughtful faces like ( ´-`).｡oO; here it can look like drowsy thoughts drifting away. On X, it opened a 2023 post and was followed by ふわぁ～～… (fuwaa…), the sound of a long yawn in Japanese.
