Both eyes are ・, the KATAKANA MIDDLE DOT: in Japanese it's the dot that goes between the parts of a foreign name written in katakana, as in ジョン・スミス, the Japanese spelling of John Smith. It's a full-width character with the dot in the middle of its square, so even though there's no space anywhere in this face, the two dots end up far apart. There's no mouth between them. Each hand is a katakana ヘ (he): from a corner that sits left of center, a short stroke drops to the left and a longer one runs down to the right. On both hands, the corner is higher than the eye dots and the end of the long stroke is lower, so they look raised to face height, wrists bent and fingers hanging down, the way you hold your hands when you tiptoe. Dancing faces such as ヘ(^_^ヘ)♩ and ヘ(≧▽≦ヘ)♪ use ヘ for hands too, but a musical note follows them. Here what follows is 。。, two IDEOGRAPHIC FULL STOPs, the full stop used in Japanese: small hollow rings that sit lower than the eyes, in the bottom half of the parentheses' height. With no mouth and no music, the same hands stop dancing and start sneaking, and the two rings can read as tiny footprints left behind, or as a pause where nobody says a word.
