(◦•ᜊ◝︎)

The two circles on the left are a pair by name: • is BULLET, and ◦, just to its left, is WHITE BULLET, the same round dot left hollow. They sit at about the same height, but only the solid • reads as an open eye. In (◦•ω•◦), there's a ◦ outside each eye, like a pair of cheeks; here there's only the one on the left. On the other side of the mouth, where a second eye would go, sits ◝, UPPER RIGHT QUADRANT CIRCULAR ARC: the top-right quarter of a circle. From its upper-left end, the arc runs almost horizontally at first, then curves around to the right and down; its highest point is above the •. Sleeping faces like ( ◜‿◝ )zZ use ◜ and ◝ as a pair of closed eyes, but here only the right eye is an arc, so the face can read as someone with one eyelid already down, about to nod off, or someone just awake with only one eye open so far. The mouth between the eyes is ᜊ, TAGALOG LETTER BA. On this site it's drawn as a hollow outline, domed on top, while its bottom edge rises to a small point in the middle and splits into two rounded lobes, a lot like the bottom of an ω. ᜊ is much bigger than either eye. Right after ◝ comes an invisible character, U+FE0E VARIATION SELECTOR-15. It asks for the plain-text form of a character that could also show up as an emoji, but ◝ has no emoji form, so nothing changes on screen. In this face, the site's font fixes the shape of the mouth, ᜊ, and nothing else; ◦, • and ◝ are left to your device's font, so how high they sit next to ᜊ can shift a little from one device to another. On X, this face appeared in a post that lined up sleepy and sleeping faces, some of them with zᶻ or zz attached, but this one doesn't have a single z.
