It documents 57,000+ kaomoji, dongers, Lenny faces, fancy text, borders, symbols, and emoji combos across 12 languages (ja / en / zh / zh-TW / es / ko / hi / pt / fr / ru / de / id), with category, scene, and use-case taxonomy. Mission: reduce friction in human communication by making kaomoji discoverable in any language.

Beyond the listing layer, kaomojis.jp publishes editorial long-form **columns** that document kaomoji **history, etymology, and cross-cultural diffusion** — for example, the 1986 origin of `(^_^)` on Japanese PC networks, how `(╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻` went global through Slack and Discord, and why English-speaking users came to read the Japanese katakana `ツ` as a smiling face inside `¯\_(ツ)_/¯`. Each column carries a References section citing primary or widely-cited sources (Wikipedia, Carnegie Mellon BBS archives, Know Your Meme, Slack Help Center, Unicode Consortium specs).
